1.3.5. TASKS

1.3.5_1.  Higher Education in the UK.

1) Study the vocabulary for the topic «Higher Education in the UK».

2) Read the text « Higher Education in the UK » and do FOCUS ON VOCABULARY and FOCUS ON READING.

3) Do FOCUS ON SPEAKING: Read the conversation and suggest a suitable title for it. Find out what topic is discussed. Make a list of features that make the system of higher education in the United Kingdom attractive.

4) FOCUS ON LISTENING: Listen to the conversation between Helen and Toshi about Allen High School in Britain and do the exercises to practise and improve your listening skills.

1.3.5_2.  Verbs "to Be" and "to Have": Meanings.

1) Study the way the verb “to be” used in the English language and do the exercises.

2) Study the way the verb “to have” used in the English language and do the exercises.

1.3.5_3.   Phonetic Drill (Consonants: m, p, b, f, v, w, t, d).

Study the reading rules of graphic equivalents of the [p], [b] phonemes and practise the reading of the words.
